October 3, 2024:  Marshall – The Missouri Public Utility Alliance (MPUA) recently honored Ken Bryant, a member of Marshall Municipal Utilities’ Board of Public Works (BPW), with its Public Official Award.

The award, presented by MPUA, recognizes personal service to MPUA by elected and appointed officials at the state or local level.

“Ken Bryant’s work over the past 13 years has been instrumental in guiding Marshall Municipal Utilities through numerous challenges and major projects,” said John Twitty, President and CEO of MPUA. “His commitment to the community truly sets him apart as an exceptional board member and hometown leader.”

Bryant joined the Board in 2011 and has since contributed to the success of a water treatment plant project to reduce disinfection byproducts, significant upgrades at Marshall’s wastewater treatment plant, construction of a 161 kV emergency tie, demolition of the utility’s steam plant and the expansion of the city’s municipal broadband service.

In addition to his duties as a BPW member, Bryant participates in Meals on Wheels and helps seniors with their taxes at the local senior center. He also serves on several other community boards and is a member of the Kiwanis.

Bryant’s colleagues describe him as a humble volunteer who cares deeply about his community and its residents.

The annual Alliance Awards are made in recognition of achievement and distinction among MPUA member hometown utilities.
