"Providing Hometown Reliability"
The conduit contractor only has a handful of areas left. MMU crews are following after to pull in fiber and then splice. The fiber installation is currently about 6 months behind the conduit installation, but we hope to close that gap some as we get rolling. The order of areas for pulling fiber and splicing might differ from the order of areas conduit was installed. Materials are mostly delivered for Grant 1, but lead times for some items have stretched to 72-74 weeks. Lead time for pedestals is now 2 years - the last batch we ordered for Grant 1 is now 4 months late and that will be an issue soon.
Grant installs have been progressing. We're working on our list as best as we can. We have about a dozen on the list that are ready to bury and should be adding the customers in the Wildcat area that have signed up to that list in a couple weeks. |
We had to focus a couple non-grant projects in the last few weeks, so less man-power has been in the grant area. Those are mostly behind us now, so we're back on grant construction. |

Paperwork is basically complete for round 2. We hope to start construction in mid to late 2022 after round 1. We had a couple of equipment demos and were able to use some of the time to put in a half mile of conduit for Grant 2. We won't be able to do anything with it until Grant 1 is further along. The note about lead times above shouldn't hurt too bad for Grant 1, but could be a major issue for starting Grant 2. We're working on getting the bid documents sent out.
